CHAIRMAN 1946
Seth was employed by first National Bank in Conroe in 1932. He was elected President and Chairman of the Board in 1957, serving in that capacity until 1975. He then served as Chairman of its successor bank, NCNB Texas National Bank Conroe.
He was born in Bertram, Texas. After moving to Lampasas in 1916 and then to Georgetown in 1922, Seth settled in Conroe in 1932. He graduated from Georgetown High School and attended the University of Texas and Southwestern University in Georgetown. He and his wife Helen had two daughters, the late Helen Ann (Mrs. Lee Alworth) and the late Martha D. Watkins. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and served on the church Administrative Board, the Board of Trustees, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Pensions, Texas Conference.
He was very active in the Chamber serving on the Building Committee for the Chamber Building at 101 W. Phillips and on the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Seth served on the Board of Trustees of the Montgomery County Industrial Foundation, the Board of Trustees of Conroe Industrial Foundation, and as a Director of the East Texas Chamber of Commerce.
