GERALD J. CREIGHTON, JR.

INDUCTED – NOVEMBER 16, 2011

Gerald Creighton, Jr. was one of the original partners of the Conroe law firm of Darden, Fowler & Creighton, L.L.P., and served as its Managing Partner. He practiced in the areas of general, civil, business, estate planning, probate, oil and gas and real estate law. He was a native of Conroe and Montgomery County, Texas. After graduating from the University of Texas Law School and serving as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army, Gerald returned to Conroe in 1957 to practice law and became a founding member of the firm.

In Gerald’s practice, he represented numerous businesses and individuals, many of whom relied upon his services for over fifty years. Gerald Creighton enjoyed the highest rating of an attorney by Martindale-Hubble – “AV”. He was a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He served as a President of the Montgomery County Bar Association and a member of the State Bar Regional Ethics Committee.

Gerald Creighton served the Conroe community in numerous organizations, including serving as a Trustee for the Conroe Independent School District for 15 years. Integration of all Conroe public schools occurred during Gerald’s years serving as a C.I.S.D. Trustee. His service to the Montgomery County community was recognized by the Conroe Independent School District by naming a school in his honor. He also served in various positions with his church, First Baptist Conroe, where he was a member from 1938 until his passing in 2014. Gerald has also served on the Board of Directors of Allied Conroe Bank, Old Republic Title Company, and the Montgomery County Community Foundation. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Conroe.

Gerald Creighton and wife, Janet, had two children, Janna Hoke and G. Mark Creighton, a partner in the law firm, and four grandchildren.
