COMMITTEES

Working for You – The Voice of Business

The dedication and involvement of our members are why the Conroe Lake Conroe Chamber is successful. There are a variety of involvement opportunities that match your unique skills and talents. Browse our opportunities below or visit the Chamber Calendar.

Advocacy

The Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce identifies priorities for each biennial State Legislature through the Advocacy/Governmental Affairs Committee. We also provide regular updates from the local, state, and federal leaders via our Monthly Luncheons calendar. The committee also produces the annual Chamber Day event, which is a “boots on the ground” approach to assessing the local business climate as we advocate for our businesses with our elected officials and economic developers.  Committee members attend local government meetings to report back to the committee. Marketing

The Marketing Committee provides input and guidance for the Chamber’s ongoing marketing and communications initiatives. The committee helps establish key priorities for the Chamber’s marketing/communications function. It works with the Director of Marketing to assess the progress and effectiveness of these marketing/communications priorities.

Goal:
To provide a robust, effective marketing/communications program that is focused on 1) recruiting new members to the Chamber; and 2) retention of existing members.

Professional Business Development

The Chamber offers complimentary educational seminars to members and not-yet-members throughout the year at the Chamber office. These workshops vary in date and time throughout the year and focus on the creation, development, marketing, and management of your business. Professional Business Development will cover everything from preliminary planning stages, building your book of business, filing your taxes, using social media, and finding the right employees to take your company to the next level. These seminars are part of the Chamber’s continuing commitment to providing affordable education and training on various topics that affect the community’s business growth and sustainability. For more information, contact Pauline Veazey at paulinev@conroe.org

Workforce

The Workforce Development Committee is a partnership between the Chamber, Conroe Economic Development Council, local ISDs and higher education partners, and the business community. As employers look to the future of their businesses, having access to training programs, connecting with people looking for employment, and creating resource materials for employers and potential employees are all areas of workforce development currently being addressed. Building the workforce of tomorrow and finding a talent pipeline is job one for this committee. For more information, contact Scott Harper at scotth@conroe.org
