Community/Membership Services

Montgomery County Fair Buyer’s Group: Led by a Chamber Board Member, this group contributes personal donations to partner with other buyer’s groups to purchase non-livestock and livestock entries at the annual Montgomery County Fair to support the scholarships for the students who entered and qualified for the auctions.

Business Development Division

Voice of Business: The cost of running a business is high. Businesses are encumbered by regulations, paperwork and other mandated requirements. To ensure that our members have every opportunity for able to success and are able to compete on a level playing field, the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce must become the true voice of business with local, state and national elected and appointed officials. This committee strives to:

1) Serve as a clearing house of issues of importance to the business community and to communicate with local government, the Texas legislature and Congress
2) Grow and nurture relationships and build trust to allow the Chamber to effectively serve as the “thought leaders” and the Voice of Business in Conroe and throughout the region

Education Committee:  The Chamber Education committee is dedicated to developing programs that enhance the talents and skills of our member’s employees, identifying gaps in local workforce development efforts and engaging in public/private partnerships between our region’s business and educational community.   Examples of work developed out of the committee include the annual Job Fair and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Chamber University,  the Next Generation High School Leadership program, organization and execution of common interest business roundtables and partnership with economic development resources on a comprehensive regional workforce development plan.

Mobility Committee: The committee’s interest is in facilitating the coordination of efforts among all the appropriate governmental entities, at all levels, on the development of new mobility projects and the upgrading of existing roadways, bridges and lighting. Committee members are from the various governmental agencies concerned with transportation. (Meetings bi-monthly on the first Thursday.)

Membership Development Division

Vice Chairman: Dione Booker

The Diplomats are a committee of Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Area volunteers that brings value to membership by encouraging member involvement, member networking and retention.

Each month the Diplomats make calls or visits to new members of the Chamber to welcome them to the Chamber and congratulate them on their membership. These visits or calls welcome new members and provide us an opportunity to learn more about their business. Every month volunteers share what they have learned with other Diplomats and staff at a monthly meeting.

Diplomats are also the friendly greeters at our events held every month. They help new members feel welcome and help introduce them to other business professionals.

If you are interested in becoming a Diplomat, please contact Brian Bondy at brianb@conroe.org or at (936) 538-7107.
